Revision History - v4.00

Daqarta v4.00.2 - 24 June 2008:

Bug Fix: Daqarta could crash while loading certain Generator setups.

Daqarta v4.00 - 8 June 2008:

Sound Level Meter option added, with six standard and unlimited custom weighting curves, plus five standard or custom adjustable attack and decay time responses. Continuous Peak and PeakTC buttons allow viewing either the current SPL, or the peak SPL since the last Peak Reset, with and without response time constants. Adjustable decimal places for SPL display.

Labels and Fields areas added below Notes area, to hold any info you want associated with your data. Contents are saved with .DQA files, and shown on file open.

For Pro or trial users, complex tasks can now be fully automated with a scripted Macro system that includes loops, custom status and prompt messages, timers (including the ability to awaken the system from standby), event waits, local variables that persist between sessions, and bounded random value entry to controls. Macros can be invoked via user-defined hot-keys or selected from a list. Macro collections can be saved to and loaded from .MAC files, including an auto-loaded file that can run a custom startup macro automatically. (Non-Pro users, including free expired-trial users, can use all these features except saving macro files. They can use files created before the trials expired, and they can use macros created during the current session.)

For Pro or trial users, the Juxt Array system allows multiple traces to be stored in memory and shown individually or as multi-trace displays, sorted and labeled according to a chosen Field, date, or time. Trace arrays can be saved and loaded as .JXT files.

Frequency Counter now has separately-adjustable decimal places for Hertz and msec modes.

Voltmeter now shows SPL in dB mode, where applicable. Continuous Peak Hold allows viewing peak or instantaneous values for any mode at any time. Separately-adjustable decimal places for linear and dB modes. Time constant is now adjustable independently from cursor readout TC. Voltmeter now works on all files, formerly only Paused long (DDisk) files.

F9 function key now opens output Volume or dB Slider dialog at any time, to allow quick volume adjustments without having to close and re-open whatever you were working on.

A Generator Clip Indicator below the main toolbar now shows when instantaneous digital waveform values attempt to exceed full-scale, typically from combining multiple Streams with Level values totalling more than 100%.

Most readouts (Averager Frames counter, cursor readouts, file position, modulation status, Wave type, dB, etc) may now be copied to the clipboard via normal Windows highlight and CTRL+C, and pasted into Fields and elsewhere via CTRL+V. For the Frequency Counter, Voltmeter, and Sound Level Meter, left-clicking anywhere on the displayed value captures it and pops up a message asking if you want to send it to the Clipboard.

Cursor readouts for X position are now controls that allow direct entry, as well as display of positions set via mouse or cursor key.

Spectrogram mode now shows readouts for the corresponding Spectrum cursors.

Number entry with scientific prefixes now accepts entries like '5msec' as '5m' (0.005) instead of rejecting it as a bad entry. Everything after the prefix character is ignored.

File Info dialog now has a Local/UTC button for file time and date display.

Pause button now has red highlight "LED" when active.

Stream channel and number buttons in stream dialog are now shown with red highlight "LED" which show which streams are active without having to open them.

Default font sizes are set in initial session so Daqarta fills the screen as much as possible. Manual settings take effect for future sessions.

Frequency Step Mode dialog pop-up buttons added to Burst Time Modulation and Timing Modulation dialogs, since they have Sine Modulator Frequency controls that use the current step setting.

Bug Fix: For Gen Sync Trigger mode, if next trace update would be delayed more than about 5 seconds while waiting for tight Maximum Sync Error, the sync happens on the next cycle within +/-0.5 samples of the target.

Bug Fix: Sgram Palette Color Bar was not responding to mouse clicks to pick color values and ranges.

Bug Fix: If a Histogram file is opened, Spectrum is now forced off and disabled to prevent meaningless display.

Bug Fix: Waveform Average files did not display properly for other than simple mono and stereo channels. Now works with any combination of up to 4 channels (0, 1, or 2 In and 0, 1, or 2 Out).

Bug Fix: Spectrum of Wave Average was not shown properly.

Bug Fix: Arb and Play [X] file removal buttons did not work properly.

Bug Fix: Home and End keys now work for all edit controls. Also Notes now accepts Tab key and inserts 4 spaces.

Bug Fix: Would not load .CAL or .CRV files with frequencies over 32767 Hz.

Bug Fix: Negative SPL values on the Sgram dB axis were shown the same as positive, now shown in red. For normal relative dB, positive values (rare) are shown with a leading '+' sign.

Bug Fix: HTML Help window could not be repositioned. Possible crash if Daqarta closed while HTML Help was still open. PgUp/PgDn now works in Contents as well as topic pages.

Bug Fix: Auto-Increment Filenames options was improperly incrementing names like "Test327" to "Test328", etc, instead of "Test327-000", "Test327-001", etc.

Bug Fix: X-axis eXpand Max and Min did not allow entry of values above 65535 in CPM mode.

Bug Fix: Averager Controls dialog would not open from Edit menu.

Bug Fix: Modulation of Burst Cycle ignored negative modulator waveform phase when Train Count set to 1.

Bug Fix: After User Units toggle, Histogram X-axis showed wrong units.

Bug Fix: Positive Spectrum peaks could "roll over" and negative Waveform Average peaks could "roll up" at extreme display magnifications.

Bug Fix: Cursor TC formerly allowed values of 1-31, with 1 claimed to be no smoothing at all... but was actually a very small amount. Now allows 0-31 and 0 really is no smoothing.
