Percussion Pan Position

Controls: Sgram/PT Dialog >> Pitch-to-MIDI >> Percussion Setup
Changes: PP=n
Macro: MIDIpanP

The Percussion Pan control appears at the top of the Percussion Setup dialog, and near the bottom of the main Pitch-to-MIDI dialog.

The Percussion Pan value defaults to 0 (Center), and may range from -64 (full Left) to +63 (full Right).

This control affect all Percussion Instruments equally. This is a MIDI "feature" since it handles all percussion instruments as different "notes" of a single MIDI voice (MIDI Voice 10).

The Pan Scan, Pan Wrap, and Pan Beat controls allow automated motion of the Pan position, or you can set it directly via Changes script commands.

MIDI Changes Script:

PP=n sets the Percussion Pan Position to the value of n, which may be any signed integer or valid expression, including current MIDI control values, random values, current computer keyboard states or mouse position, input or buffered notes, oscillators, and User Variables. Values will be limited to the range of -64 (Left) to +63 (Right).

See the Voice Pan Position topic for a discussion of how to use a Changes script to move the position in a sinusoidal manner.

Macro Notes:

MIDIpanP=64 sets the Percussion Pan Position to 64. MIDIpanP=>1 increments the current Percussion Pan Position by one, while MIDIpanP=>-1 decrements it.

However, Changes scripts are recommended for this purpose.
