SPL Response Attack

Controls: Options >> Sound Level Meter >> Attack
Macro: SPL_TCattack

This controls the Attack time of the Sound Level Meter response. Values are in integer milliseconds only.

The Attack time works with Decay as a "quasi-peak" detector. Attack controls how rapidly the meter responds to a sudden increase in level, and Decay controls how rapidly it dies down after a decrease. In general, a short Attack allows a fuller response to fast transients, whereas a longer Attack tends to ignore them.

If you set Attack to zero, regardless of Decay, the Sound Level Meter responds immediately to all changes, with no time constants. Use 1 msec for the fastest Attack that still uses a Decay value.

If you set Decay to zero, Daqarta assumes you do not want quasi-peak operation. In this case, Attack sets a single time constant configured to provide an overall averaged response.

Macro Notes:

SPL_TCattack=125 sets Attack to 125 msec. SPL_TCattack=>1 increments the current value and SPL_TCattack=>-1 decrements it by 1 msec.
