Hertz Frequency Entry Step Mode

Controls: Gen Dlg >> Stream >> Tone Freq >> Step Mode >> Hertz
Macros: Fstep, FstepHz

This mode may be selected from the Frequency Entry Step Mode dialog, which pops up via the Step mode button that indicates the current mode. That button is located under many frequency entry controls in the Generator. The mode setting applies to most Generator frequency entry controls. The mode only affects values during entry or adjustment; it does not change previously-entered frequencies.

Hertz mode is similar to Direct mode, except that values are quantized to the specified step size. If that step size is 1.0000 Hz, then any frequency value that is changed will be forced to a multiple of 1 Hz (within the intrinsic resolution limits of the Generator). This will apply whether the change is by direct keyboard entry or by scrolling: If the initial frequency value is 500.123 Hz, one scroll step up will move to 501 Hz, and one step down will move to 500 Hz. If you directly enter 503.4567, it will be quantized down to 503 Hz.

Macro Notes:

Fstep=Hz sets Hertz Step Mode.

FstepHz=100 sets the Hertz step size to 100 Hertz.
