This mode may be selected from the Frequency Entry Step Mode dialog, which pops up via the Step mode button that indicates the current mode. That button is located under many frequency entry controls in the Generator. The mode setting applies to all Generator frequency entry controls. The mode only affects values during entry or adjustment; it does not change previously-entered frequencies.

In Direct mode, you can always enter any frequency you wish by direct entry; the value of the step size here only applies if you scroll the item. Note that in Direct mode the step size is applied to whatever value is current; there is no quantization as in Hertz, Lines, or Cents modes.

Macro Notes:

Fstep=Dir sets Direct Step Mode.

FstepDir=20 sets the Direct scroll step size to 20 Hertz.
