SPL Response Decay Controls: Options >> Sound Level Meter >> Decay
This controls the Decay time of the Sound Level Meter response. Values are in integer milliseconds only, so to enter, say, 1 second you would enter 1000. The Decay time works with Attack as a "quasi-peak" detector. Decay controls how rapidly the meter reading dies down after a drop in sound level. Long Decay values make the meter easier to read when the input signal is rapidly changing. If you set Decay to zero, Daqarta assumes you do not want quasi-peak operation. In this case, Attack sets a single time constant configured to provide an overall averaged response. Decay has no effect if Attack is set to zero. In that case, the meter responds immediately to all changes, with no time constants. Macro Notes: SPL_TCdecay=1000 sets Attack to 1000 msec (1 second). SPL_TCdecay=>1 increments the current value and SPL_TCdecay=>-1 decrements it by 1 msec. See also Sound Level Meter |
