DAT Decimate X Controls: DD/Open >> DAT Format >> Decimate X
Since a .DAT-type file doesn't have a header that Daqarta can use to determine whether decimation was used when the data was acquired, this control allows you to set an arbitrary Decimate Factor. The default is 1x (no decimation), which specifies a normal recording. Note that the value you choose here only sets the initial Decimate Factor; once the file is open, you can change the current Factor at any time from the X-Axis Dialog. Unless you know otherwise, you should probably leave the initial Factor at the default value of 1. One use of Decimate X is if your raw data was collected at a sample rate lower than 120 Hz, which is the lower limit of the above Sample Rate control. Decimate X acts as a divisor for Sample Rate, which allows you to reach much lower effective sample rates. See also File Menu, Open Existing Data File, .DAT File Format Dialog |
