Macro Load File

Controls: Options >> Macro Dialog >> Load File
Macro: LoadMAC

This allows you to load a collection of Daqarta macros that was previously Saved as a .MAC file. If present, Daqarta0.MAC is loaded automatically at startup. This button allows you to load a different macro set at any time. For example, you may want to keep different macro sets for entirely different tasks.

Alternatively, you may load other DaqartaN.MAC files at startup, where N is any alphanumeric character, by invoking Daqarta using the M:N parameter. You can create separate desktop icons that load different macro sets for different purposes.

Assuming you have a desktop icon from a standard Daqarta installation, first create a copy by right-clicking and selecting Create Shortcut.

After the new icon appears on your desktop, right-click it and select Properties. Under the Shortcut tab, the Target line will show something like:

"C:\Program Files\Daqarta\Daqarta.exe"

Add the M: parameter at the end of that line (outside of the quotes). For example, to load Daqarta1.MAC you would change the above to:

"C:\Program Files\Daqarta\Daqarta.exe" M:1

You can change the icon appearance to have a transparent background instead of a black starfield. This can help to tell different Daqarta installations apart at a glance.

Macro Notes:

LoadMAC is not a valid macro command when the Macro Dialog is open. It is primarily intended for use from a Remote Control program, allowing it to change to a completely different set of macros when needed. This would typically be done using the A.LoadMAC for to load without an Open dialog or any user intervention. (See below.)

The LoadMAC macro has no effect if any File Open or Save As dialog is already active.

LoadMAC= without a name will open the File Open dialog showing all .MAC files, with a default name of Daqarta.

LoadMAC="MyMacros" will open the File Open dialog with the default name set to MyMacros. (Note that quotes are needed around all filenames in macros.) If you accept this by hitting Enter or the Open button in that dialog, Daqarta will assume you want to open a file named MyMacros.MAC and will fail if that file is not found.

A.LoadMAC="MyMacros" will open MyMacros.MAC directly, without any File Open dialog. Note that this will replace the existing macros without saving changes, if any.

LoadMAC can use string variables and expressions. For example, LoadMAC=Field1 will use the contents of Field1 as the default file name, and A.LoadMAC=Field1 will load a file with that name directly.

Similarly, if the Macro Variable Var0 holds a value of 12, then LoadMAC="Macros"+Var0 will set a default file name of Macros12.
