Macro HelpHelp buttons appear next to the Run button below the Macro List in the main Macro Dialog, and also near the upper right of the Macro Edit dialog above the macro Definition. Clicking either of these opens the Help topic of the selected macro, if it is one of the macro examples and mini-apps included with Daqarta. The specific topic is determined by the first line of the definition. For example, the THD_Meter definition begins with:
Notice that this starts with a semicolon, so it is a comment and not a macro command to be executed. It must be the very first thing in the definition, or it will be ignored. If you create a macro that is a modification of an included example or mini-app, you may want to keep this line to refer to the original Help topic. Otherwise, if you write your own macro from scratch there is normally no particular reason to have such a line. However, this system is capable of opening any control topic in Daqarta. (Those are topics you open via right-clicking controls or menu items, not ones that you navigate to from within the Help system.) If for some reason you want to associate one of these topics with your macro for quick access via the Help button, you just need to determine the proper value to use. Create a little macro like this: That will display the hexadecimal value of the most-recent control topic, which you can use to replace the '4900' in the above example. (All values are 4 hex digits or less.) See also Macro Dialog, Macro Overview |
